DENISE AMES anchors and hosts "FOCUS IN THE MIX with Denise Ames".The weekly TV series airs in L.A. and features in-depth on camera celebrity interviews along with a news desk highlighting entertainment and community segments about L.A. County.Guests on the program (and on her previous show) have included JOHN5(of Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson),Ratt's JAUN CROCIER,LEMMY KILMISTER of Motorhead,JANI LANE(Warrant),SASCHA KONIETZKO(aka Kap't K) of KMFDM,LISA LOEB,RUDY SARZO(Ozzy,Quiet Riot,Dio),BLASKO(Ozzy),PHIL LEWIS of L.a. Guns,Heaven and Hell's VINNY APPICE,CARLOS CAVAZO(Quiet Riot),and ERIC BLOOM of Blue Oyster Cult.The show also offers short guest segments for up and comers.Ames was voted Miss All Access Magazine last year and is featured throughout the latest Guns n' Roses documentary "2 Classic Albums Under Review;Use Your Illusion I and II". What defunct band would you like to see re-unite? RATT , without Juan Croucier,they are not Ratt .Juan was not only the bands best live performer,but he also wrote many of their hits including "Lack of Communication".Of course, Robbin "King" Crosby is no longer with us,but having Micheal Schenker step in would do it for me. What were some of your fave bands growing up , and what current bands do you dig? KISS was it for me in San Diego from 5th grade on until I discovered a little band called MOTLEY CRUE up in L.A. I would ditch all high school functions at Mira Mesa High to go watch Motley and others play at The Troubadour in west Hollywood ...underage, I might add.(Ya gotta love this woman!) I blew off my senior prom to see RATT at the troub.I just recently broke this news to my mother, whom was mortified about this decades after the fact! I also revealed this very candidly to STEPHEN PEARCY, whom on the other hand, was quite proud of my angst.Talk about "What goes around,comes around", right? As far as new bands, I say watch out for DIRTY PENNY out of Santa Cruz.I saw them play the ALL ACCESS MAGAZINE MUSIC AWARDS in Hollywood last November and they blew everyone else off the stage. Who would you like to interview that you haven't? AL JOURGENSEN, whom I believe is coming on "Focus in the Mix" in March, according to his loveley wife,Angie.TOMMY VICTOR of MINISTRY and PRONG was a recent guest on the show right before PAUL RAVEN passed away.Tommy was absolutely classic--such a silly rock star! If you could live anywhere, where would it be? The beach! I was born and raised in Del Mar (San Diego) California.Smelling the salt in the air makes me feel complete. What was the best concert you ever attended? (I love Nisey's answer here!) That would be my first concert ever...KISS! My mother took my younger sister, Michele,our friend, Kim, and I to see them at San Diego Sports Arena when I was just 13.God bless her (my Mother). Who was the most fun to interview? There are two, and coincidentally from RATT.Shocker,I know from what I've already said from above. Stephen Pearcy whom I've interviewed many times prior to our, sad to say falling out,was great because we're both from San Diego.We knew the same people from childhood and spoke the same"San Diego" lingo.We got along so well and it showed big time on camera.Even my parents said we had a great business future together and alot of plans,but not everything comes to fruition. My other favorite is Jaun Croucier because we are such good personal friends.He was hilarious, and because he trusts me,he spoke freely throughout his two episodes on the show after he decided not to go out on tour on the Ratt Re-union tour.A portion of his episodes can be viewed on my myspace page.He was kind enough to grant me an interview while opting out of other interview requests. Which movie stars do you think are hot? Nobody really these days can compare to Mr. Rudolph Valentino. What are some of your favorite foods/beverages/restaurants? I'm a vegetarian (with 8 rescued animals currently living in my home) so basically anything sans murdered animals.I love hot spicy apple cider and fruit drinks I make myself in a blender.My favorite restaurant is Tokyo Wako where they make the food right in front of you.Every time MIKE SCORE(Flock of Seagulls) rolls into town, he always takes me there. The portabello mushroom sandwich at the Cheesecake Factory is to die for. Who do you idolize, and why? National news anchors and TV hosts because that is where I want to be.No one person in particular because I am my own personality and hopefully someone will buy what I'm selling! Is there anything you want to say to your fans? I don't think I really have fans per say.I think the viewers watch the show because of it's unique entertainment and community news, and because they are fans of the celebrity guests that come on.The stars we showcase seem to be what a lot of viewers all over the planet want.
