The Highway Cowboys came about in early 2006 when Jadie Binkley and Buford Wayne Shearon the 3rd, who had been a part of various musical projects together in the past, decided that they wanted to do something different. They felt it was finally time to embrace something they had been denying for quite some time, their southern roots. They soon enlisted the help of drummer Chris Denney and began writing material, shortly after they cut a demo with Jeremy Asbrock of The Shazam. The end product was very good and it didn't take long for it to catch the ear of guitarist Matt Massacre who then decided to put down the guitar and pick up a bass. With a full lineup and the world in front of them the future looks bright for these Tennessee boys.
