Sins of Memory was founded in Nashville, Tennessee late in 2002 when drummer Chris Higgins answered an ad placed in a local music store by guitarist Mikey “Mello.” Soon, bass player Lanny Harris was added to the group. These founding members realized that they shared a love for multiple forms of high-energy music. Several attempts were made to find the right vocalist, but the band discovered, to their dismay, that few vocalists would fit the concept of the band. Eventually, vocalist Tommy Holt responded to an ad in a local newspaper. Tommy brought a passionately aggressive vocal style and punk aesthetic to the band. Soon everyone felt confident that he was the missing piece that they had been looking for. 2003 looked very promising with Tommy aboard and a three-song appearance in “Kaliyuga,” a local independent film under their belt. The band spent the remaining months of the year writing new songs and defining their sound, a blend of various sub-genres of metal, hardcore, and punk rock. 2004 saw the group playing several shows throughout Tennessee and gaining a reputation as an intense and unforgettable live act. The band ended 2004 by completing a four-song EP entitled “Original Sin.” 2005 has seen the band continuing to give high energy live shows with radio starting to come aboard in middle Tennessee and east Tennessee.
