Biography
Think Velvet Revolver, Led Zeppelin, Pearl Jam and The Black Crowes– minus the raging drug habits, rehab, near-death experiences and career highs and lows.

Nashville rock band Pilot’s Lounge has gradually risen out of the ashes of three now-defunct local rock bands that were each generating their own buzz in the music community.  But the demise of Costar, Lucky Black, and Lover’s Red birthed friendships that were then bonded by similar interests in life and the pursuit of great original rock music.

Pilot’s Lounge frontman Eric Hurt, guitarist Ian Michaels, bassist Jason Hardin, and drummer Solomon Davis agree that this band has some important elements their previous incarnations didn’t: true musical chemistry, genuine friendships, creative freedom and most importantly one strong vision.

“The vision is to bring back real rock and roll”, Michael says.  “I’m am sick of turning on the radio and hearing bubble gum chords and manufactured artists”.

And that vision is backed by some serious talent and an amazing ability to create melodic, driving music that borrows from the classic rock bands of the past; and meshes it with the freshest rock riffs blasting throughout any live music venue today.

Hurt says, “We have a clear vision of what we want to do.  We aren’t trying to find ourselves.  Granted, we have to continue striving to write better and better songs, but we know what we are about.  I miss those great Guns N’ Roses riffs and strong vocals.  That’s what we want to bring back – straight up rock n’ roll with a melody and guitar parts that stick”.

Davis adds: “A big deal for us, more than anything else, is that we make timeless music.  Anyone can have a rock band, but not everyone can make timeless music and have staying power”.

In less than a year, Pilot’s Lounge released a seven-song EP that has generated industry interest from L.A. as well as in Nashville and New York. The group has played – and rocked – area venues from Arkansas to Illinois and is getting airplay on college and alternative radio stations.  Several major label A&R reps from New York have also come to hear Pilots Lounge in recent weeks.

The band is generating a buzz on its MySpace site (www.myspace.com/pilotslounge) and has also launched a band web page at www.pilots-lounge.net. Both sites have song samples, while entire songs off their EP can be purchased on iTunes or www.collegemusicradio.com.

The group is admittedly unashamed of the music it is collectively producing, yet is eager to work with industry professionals who can escalate their music to the next level.

“If you combine our vision, our passion, our talent and our willingness to be guided; that opens up the door for success,” Hurt says.
