About parisstreet
Much thanks to all who attended our April 17 show, which was without-a-doubt the best show we've ever played. Much thanks to Duraluxe and Meredith Bragg And The Terminals for sharing the bill with us and playing their awesome songs. Much thanks mainly to Mark, Darrin, and especially Steve for providing such lovely backing to my perverse, little folk songs.

More shows coming soon.

Paris Street = a group of guys who have graciously decided to help out another guy in turning his one-man, bedroom-pop into a full-fledged band, and a pretty good one at that.

In between Paris Street-related activities, I book shows for The Springwater Supper Club & Lounge - the loveliest dive bar in Nashville. If you're looking to set up a show, read the above blog first, then contact me, either through Myspace or by emailing parisstreet@hotmail.com.

Much love to all.

KUDOS:

"A Paris Street show is the kind of experience that takes singer-songwriter conventions and simmers them with sincerity, arch humor and forgone energy, then strains out anything conventional or established." - All The Rage, Nashville, TN

"Creative and unpredictable, this Nashville group assembles romantic bedroom pop in a ramshackle and charming way" - Flagpole Magazine, Athens, GA.

"I knew I loved Paris Street - the one-man band of Nashville's Carl Polgar - the minute I opened the envelope. Inside, an 11-song CD-R was slid between two stapled slabs cut from a Miller Genuine Draft (High Life is better, Carl) six-pack. It got better upon listening, as Polgar sings heart-on-sleeve, silly sad songs about forgetting the flowers and old girlfriends that romantically puked on road trips. Elliott Smith lo-fi aesthetics meet The Mountain Goats' pitch and wit" - The Independent, Chapel Hill, NC

"Naive, low-fi folk-pop from Nashville with a revolving lineup, cheeky lyrical sense and unpredictable stage vibe" - Connect Savannah
