Formed in 2003, Noisecult rose from the ashes of several years of musical wreckage and determination. Pieced together by the nucleus of Bo Heyward (Bass & lead vocals) and Don Carr (Guitar), Noisecult is the product of a 10-year-old musical collaboration. Beginning in 1993, Carr and Heyward began forming various bands throughout the years combining their love of 1970s and underground metal, aggressive punk and the classic wall of sound hammered out by Black Sabbath.

"It is our shared passion for the sound and raw energy bands like Motorhead, COC, Black Flag and AC/DC created that have kept Don and I doing this for so long," Heyward continues, "it doesn't matter what style is the it deal at the moment, we play what we like and that has really become who we are. Adds Carr, Our friendship grew from this music, so playing it was pretty much just a normal step".

In late 2002, after a few year hiatus the two set out to finally bring together the band they had always strived to build. Planets aligned and there seemed no better time to form Noisecult. The two got to work writing and arraigning songs that reflected true-life experiences and various themes of interest. Once Noisecult's skeletal sound began to take shape they decided to road test the songs. "We had a good amount of songs and we wanted to see what would hold up live", Carr continues, "once we settled on what we thought were the best songs live we took them into the studio to try to capture that same feeling".

2005 saw the band do just that. "On what became our first record, we pretty much tried to get a loose live feel and vibe to the whole thing" Heyward says. Following the release of group’s first length CD, End Of Days, the band played all the shows they could to get the material out there. "We strive to be a great band period, but delivering it on stage is what we set out to do to get our music heard" continues Heyward.

Early 2006 found Noisecult working on their second CD, titled "One From None". Recorded at Hilltop studios in Nashville with long time band friend (and occasional drummer) Producer Matt McElroy at the helm. "Matt is a cool guy and a truly great engineer who I've known for a long long time" Carr states "He knows what we are looking for in our sound and is invaluable to us, he’s forever considered a member of Noisecult".

On the band's second CD "One From None" the group set out to try some different ideas. "One From None" finds the Noisecult taking their sound in several directions, but always with that in your face raw edge and hard hitting feel that has become a trademark of the band.

"We like so many different kinds of metal and punk that to just write say a thrash song over and over would get kind of boring" says Heyward. McElroy adds, "Since the guys don't have to write to please anyone but Noisecult first we try not to confine ourselves to one certain sound".

Keeping in that mindset, 2007's "Volume 3: Vociferous" picks up where the others left off, as a collection of hard hitting rock and metal songs aimed at the true heavy rock listener. "I think anyone who likes good old style stoner rock, metal, punk, whatever, with good grooves, great lyrics, intense riffing and a raw in your face vocals will be able to get into what we've done on these three CDs" - Bo Heyward.

"With "Vociferous", we've again tried to expand just a little further on what we put into our songs, adding some more off time elements, structure dynamics and crazed fuzzed out Sabbath like tones" states McElroy. Carr injects "It was a challenge to try to keep within the sound and feel we've started with on "End of Days" and "One From None" while bringing in slight variations to mix it up. I really think we've achieved that on this CD and I couldn't be happier with how "Vociferous" slams from start to finish.

And getting Matt to sit in and play on "Vociferous" was a key element to the new album's sound. "Matt brings so many different styles and feel to the kind of music we play that it really changed how we prepared for this CD." Carr continues "Matt's approach gave Bo and I more freedom in the way we piece together song ideas." Heyward adds "On this CD I feel our playing has also taken a step forward in all aspects and a lot of that comes from Matt being able to contribute as a player this time around. We we're happy to get to drag Matt along on this recording and a huge thanks goes out to him for that as now Don and I will set out to slam these songs out live everywhere we can".

"Now since Matt has finished his drumming Noisecult tour of duty we're getting to introduce an incredible drummer for all shows, part of our upcoming live 2008 DVD entitled “Live Raw Noise” and future recording projects" Says Carr and continues "Ben Bomlitz from Ohio's legendary Evolotto will be taking over beating the shit out of the drums behind us and this guy is just tearing it apart live".  “He has a great attitude, blitzkrieg like energy and his diverse playing style and ability is unparallel” Heyward adds "We are pretty thrilled to have Ben join Noisecult, he is just the kind of guy we needed to continue on with what we play, heavy punk induced obnoxious doom filled rock....."

Ben injects “coming from a heavy ass power trio it was an natural transition to blend into the sound these guys are hammering out”.  Bomlitz Continues, “It’s been a challenge to come in and learn the shload (Don – “that’s Ben crazy ass slang for shitload, I typed it to humor him”.) of songs these guys have recorded and we’ve actually started working on new material. That is one cool thing about playing with these guys is just the constant desire to create new music, play live shows and get better at what we do”.

“Playing our songs live and feeding off the energy you get from a crowd is what this is all about” says Heyward.  2007 saw Noisecult get some great exposure playing with some of metal’s classic underground heroes like: New York’s thrash legends OverKill and doom metal pioneers Trouble. Ben adds “our goal is to take our music as far as we can push it and get it out there to as many people we can by playing live”.   “Great bands have to pay their dues and build a fan base by playing live and winning them over with great songs and a high energy show, that to me is where all the immortal bands made their mark and that is what Noisecult intends to do” - Carr

Whether it is the raw classic strength of "End of Days", the aural assault of their second release        “One From None", or the blitzkrieg of power on the new CD "Volume 3: Vociferous", as a hard rock and metal fan you wont be disappointed.
