Darker Tomorrow Unique style of music combining many sub Categories of Metal, Classical, and Goth.

Darker Tomorrow was founded in the summer of 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee. Though the music primarily falls into the genre of metal, many elements of alternative, goth, classical, and even a little funk and bluegrass find their way into the musical styling of Darker Tomorrow. While it's hard to place the band into one specific genre, fans of Static-X, old Metallica, and A Perfect Circle are likely to enjoy their unique sound.

Darker Tomorrow has gone through a few lineup changes in order to achieve the sound the founding members envisioned. The band's creators, Jake Trotter (vocals), Mike Klingelhoets (guitar and backing vocals), and Jon White (guitar), added Shawn Barnes (percussion) in May of 2005. The results were everything they had hoped for. The crowds have quickly grown at each Darker Tomorrow show as new fans discover their new style of metal.

One of the most noticeable features of Darker Tomorrow is the chemistry between the members. They consider themselves a family first and foremost. Some members went to school together, were roommates, and even played in other bands before Darker Tomorrow. Jake and Jon were both in the Nashville band, Myth. Mike's first band was Immortal Symphony, and a later project, Sinister Drone, included Shawn. The four became close friends after several shows that included both Sinister Drone and Myth. That friendship was the catalyst that led to the formation of Darker Tomorrow. Their charisma on and off the stage as well as their passion for music has inspired many friends and fans to help the band full time in the areas of business, promotion and general stage assistance.

In October 2005, Darker Tomorrow finished work on their debut CD Of Nightmares. For some of the members, it was their first time in the recording studio. Grim (of Dickson, TN's 20 Saw You Die and Deadlock) did most of the recording for the demo tracks and the CD. He said that he enjoyed his experience with Darker Tomorrow, and that they were one of his favorite bands to work with. Other bands such as Skullkin and Stonegate share that sentiment.

With their debut CD ready for release in early 2006, Darker Tomorrow is ready to expand their circle of influence. They are booking shows in other cities as well as out-of-state. Since performing is what the guys like best, they are excited about playing for new people in new places. Music is an important part of life in Nashville, and they won't forget about those roots by strengthening the local scene. They are constantly working on bringing their new and exciting music to the Southeast.
