Autumn Mourning A variety of different styles of metal blended together

About autumnmourning
Energetic. Raw. Melodic. Heavy. Bi-Polar. These are just a few words that can be used to describe Autumn Mourning. The Murfreesboro, TN based quintet thrives upon these descriptions, yet are not limited by them. Our vision was to take every single style of metal that influenced us and make it our own, says guitarist and founding member Aaron Swisher. Formed in 2002, Swisher and vocalist Hardy set out to create a band that was unique, yet couldnt be pigeonholed by any particular trend. Pulling from such early influences as Remembering Never, Dead To Fall, Dying Fetus, and Type O Negative, the groups goal was to create a sound all their own. Musically, we have a wider range of influences says Swisher. We use our influences in a different way. Lyrically, the band tackles a wide range of topics as well, with no one particular theme sticking out. While some songs talk about love, such as Last Night and Forever in Arms, others talk about religion His Sacrifice. Politics are covered as well, such as the case with 51 Million Idiots, a scathing diatribe of the 2004 Presidential Election. Were a love/hate style of band, Hardy points out. After numerous personnel changes, the present line-up includes guitarist Cristy Kirby, bassist Jason Dietz, and drummer Chris Trujillo. The bands live shows have become a must-see event in the Murfreesboro music scene. One can expect a steady dose of Hardys brutal, in-your-face vocal style, guitar work from Swisher and Kirby that alternate between precision rhythmic riffing, tight leads, and the occasional dual solo, Dietzs laid-back but spot-on bass work, and finally Trujillos frenetic punk-rock influenced drumming. After over 3 years as a group, Autumn Mourning shows no signs of slowing down yet. Rare is the fact that a band that has existed as long as them can not only thrive, yet somehow have the feeling that theyre just starting to find their groove. This can only mean great things in the future not only for the group, but for their loyal fan base as well.
