Bill 'Bleu' Lane has been touring with 1 band or another since May 1970 when Lane was released from active duty in the USMC in Jacksonville, Florida. Since then he has been involved with a number of great bands but never tried to become a solo artist until 1999 when he began rehearsing in Austin before bringing the rehearsed material to record in Nashville. Finding a number of great musiicians available he cut his Cd in 2002 and it was released in May of 2003. Lane suffered a severe  heart attack 4 days after the release. During his recovery his degenerative spinal bone and disc disease which had laid dormant for years came back causing Lane to lose the ability to walk which kept him from being able to perform. 22 surgeries later Lane finally regained his ability to walk and is now readying a band from some of the session players along with some very young newcomers that will bring his music to the masses this Summer. Lane plans to invade Nashville again in July and hopefully will open the same doors that opened to him back in 2000 when he originally started his long journey to fulfill his dreams of fronting a band of his own with his own original songs. Watch for the new band to surface as the year goes on depending on how well industry types receive him this July.
